Start again with 2 fish and 1 snail. That's it. They will be happy and live awhile for you.

Get a betta. Betta's need to live alone but you could have a snail or a ghost shrimp in with him. They make excellent pets, they are pretty and can actually be trained if you are extremely patient.

Did you do the normal 10% water change every week like you're supposed to? When you did do the water change every week was the temperature correct? Did you put in any anti chlorine in it?

Remember, the bigger the aquarium, the easier it is to take care of

too many fish too little aquarium space. 1 inch of fish per gallon
Too big of a bio load in that tiny aquarium. Definitely water quality issues going on with it.

First guess is that the tank was not fully cycled.

Second guess with so many fish would be an amonia spike.
