why are there little blue things swimming around in my fish bowl
I've got a 3 gallon betta bowl. i've had my betta for almost 3 weeks, but i've noticed little blue hair like thingies swimming around when i move the rocks around! I clean out my fish bowl every week!!
Answers:Do you think that they could be fish spawn - you know, babies? I've never heard of this before.is it a male betta or a female betta? They will leave a "bubble ring" around the top of the bowl - fish eggs! I couldn't really tell you more about it, unless I could actually see these "little blue things."
Sounds like ribbon worms (nemerteans). They are scavengers feeding on the accumulated detritus (wastes) in the gravel.
It's probely aging and its tail thingys are falling off.
can you be a little more specific? do they stick to the sides at all? Or on your betta? You might have to take your betta out, then wash it with HOT HOT BOILING water. Change all the gravle too. Then do water changes so they dont come back.
Is your gravel blue? When you buy new gravel you have to rinse it before use. If that is indeed what the blue things are, there is no need to worry, your fish will be safe.
Those little worms, I get them in my tank too.
Their just eating the crap on the bottom.
I've only seen white ones, but I'm sure thats what they are.
i was thinking maybe it could be mosquito larva but they are usually a reddish color
well if the betta is blue than maby its the bettas fin when i had mine and he got fine rott little peces of his fin fell of that kind of looked like heirs mabe thats the problem dose his fin look kind of ratty if so try to rase the temp in the bowl and thers some sort of salt u can put in it but i dont know spacificly what kind
It could be Hydra, but usually Hydra are not blue.
