why is my goldfish turning silver is it good or bad will it be ok2007-11-24 23:44:02Answers:
a lot of goldfish and koi gradually change colors as they age
it's perfectly normal
has it been floating in ur tank for over a week?
gold fish are the wrost kind of fish to have
ARE YOU FEEDING IT GOLDFISH FOOD? ASKYOUR PET STORE.
Looks like you got ripped of with a gold-plated fish.
IWell, they are called goldfish so it's not good. Will it be ok? Probably but silver's not worth as much as gold.
Hey, I used to keep fish and they turned silver. It's no problem and if it's healthy, it'll survive. I think they sometimes change to reflect their environment.
probably itll die, get better fish
put it in the sunlight alittle bit everyday or at least use a lighting bulb for it. Gold fish lose their color if you leave it in the dark or dim lighting for a long period of time
Its good, but not as valuable!
i had a gold fish called jasper that was silver and he lasted for five years? he might be ok??
Well . . . I don't know what kind of conditions you keep it in, but I have heard that keeping a goldfish in the dark will cause it to lose all coloration.
Some stores sell "goldfish" that are not actually real goldfish. They are dyed to look like goldfish. Just like jelly bean parrot fish. They are dyed all kinds of colors. As the fish get older and larger they lose their colors and become white or silver.
perhaps the fish went on the silver standard because they ran out of gold.
ur goldfish will be fine!! it might be the chemicals in the food?! or it might just be growing up!! :D
With age a goldfish may start showing silver scales among the gold, until, just like humans go grey, it becomes silver all over. When goldfish are very young they are dark for camouflage, then sometime up to the age of three they turn gold and red. In age they will tend to get silver. Some, like humans, go silver early. But if a relatively young fish starts showing a paler body underneath in patches, it is likely to be caused by injury or parasites. The other possibility is patches of white or grey fungus disease. In this case you would need to find an experienced fishkeeper or a vet to take a look at it.
It's natural! Both blue and bronze are two of the most unstable Goldfish colors, because they're actually fry-coloration; not really "meant" for adult fish. Black is also a very unstable color, and most "Black Moors" turn out to be Telescope-eyes once their black starts to fade to orange or white. Orange and white are the most stable Goldfish colors, though some orange Goldfish will turn silvery white as they get old.
