How many horses is better 2 or 3 I am moving next summer and I am getting my own horse, and I might get one in a few weeks to tie me over! So which is better, I have 5 people in my family me,sister,brother,mom,and dad, so which is better?? Please Help

Is the horse going to live on your property? If so, get 2. Horses hate to be alone. If you can get used to caring for the 2, add more. If you will be boarding, stick with one for now. Once you get the hang of caring for one and the expense, then you can better decide how it would go to have more.

If everyone in your family likes to ride, you'd be better off with 3 so they don't get tired and you all have a horse to ride when you want to. Make sure you get a calm horse that is very well trained. If you've never had one before you should take lessons on your horses and make sure an experienced rider rides them first, because they know how to handle a horse if it goes bonkers. If they don't flip out, you're good to go!

That really depends on how many your family wants to take care of. There really is no number of horses that is better have. It all depends on your family and time you have.

Edit: If you have the space, time to devote to your horse and are financially able to care for them, I would start with 1 or 2 horses. Give it some time and if you are sure you are ready for another horse, then search for a suitable horse for your family needs.

1 is not enough 2 is to many,,,,LOL I have 11!!! How many people inthe family RIDE? How much land will you have for the horses? If everyone rides you need 5 to go on trails together. If your the only 1 that rides 1 is enough you can only ride 1 at a time.

i would say three as long as you guys can keep up with the attention and love and training and caring for them, i have 6 horses and i have only only my parents watching them but they take great care of them so it depends if you are goin to be a horse person or a a halfhorse person, it depends on the time you spend with them nad how much you want to spend with them

i think i would get 2 a young fiesty one for you and an older calmer horse for the rest of your family to practice on, then once your siblings get older and really want to commit to horses they may get n of their own!!
