How do you know what saddle to buy in size
I will be buying a pony/horse soon i want to get ready beforehand so i need to know how do you know what size saddle to buy.

Answers:When buying a saddle, both yourself AND the horse need to be fit properly. While trying to be prepared beforehand is a great thing, buying a saddle is something that should be done after buying your horse. This is because you need to be sure that a saddle fits a horse so as to avoid problems with rubbing, pinching, etc. Saddles are a HUGE reason as to why so many horses end up with back problems too. While waiting for your horse, you can be fit for measurements to determine what size seat fits you best (i.e. 15" or whatever). This is something that can be measured by someone at your local tack store or an instructor. Good luck with your new horse and congrats :)
i think you have to get a saddler to measure the horse first then make one to fit or see if they have one that fits keeping a horse is really expensive good luck.
you need a proffesional saddle fitter to come and meet you at the yard, he will bring lots of saddles and it needs to fit the horse correctly and also must not be to big for the size of your bum, in general if you are small you should need a 16 inch saddle but it needs to fit the horse as well.
ask the people you are buying the pony/horse from what size saddle it is or if you get a saddle with horse or pony. good luck
i would use your current saddle, or whatever saddle the sellers have. You cant get a saddle that is made for your horse, before you get it. Horses have a with variety of size of withers. If you must get a saddle now, i would get one that has an adjustable tree, but if buying later is an option, i would wait. It is better to wait for a saddle that that fits your horse better.
Think you need an E-Fit of your backside!
You didn't say what kind of saddle... But wait until you get the horse, to make sure it fits the horse 1st then you.
