How long do you need to be riding for to become advanced2007-11-24 21:15:40
How many years do you have to be on a horse jumping and everything to become a advaced rider?
Answers:There is no correct answer for this question. It depends on many factors. How much time do you spend riding? Do you take lessons at a local stable? How long have you been riding? What things have you accomplished and are comfortable with when riding? The point is, when you become more and more like experienced horse riders around you, and you can be very comfortable and confident in the saddle, that's when you'll be an advanced rider.
Haha Time doesn't matter. You should enter competitions & stuff like that and that is what your baced on- advanced, beginner etc.
Most top riders in all disciplines have been riding since they were young children. Each person has different levels of ability. Some can advance quickly, in a matter of a couple of years. Others can ride until they are 50 and not cut it. So it is impossible to give you a time frame. A lot depends on what style you want to compete in. You need to win many events in your class before you can advance to the next. Until you get the points you need you will not advance. Good Luck
There is no set time for someone to become an advanced rider. It's how much effort you put into it, and how willing you are to learn. Good luck in future riding!
Its sad to hear people say showing is what makes an advanced rider. I have met many top level show riders, a number of hunter A level friends come to mind, who admit that they buy horses that make them look good and are totally trained, they fine tune yes, but in the end they've been blessed with lovely horses. While they have many many ribbons, I would consider them intermediate riders. I think an advanced rider is one who can ride ANY horse, someone who has ridden many horses, has many life experiences. I don't think ribbons make the rider, the horses do. I would absolutely say the cowboy whose career and livelihood depends on horses is an advanced rider despite perhaps never having entered a show.
It's not a matter of time, it's a matter of skill and knowledge. You can ride all you life and still be a beginner. You can ride for 6 months and be advanced. It just depends on your skills and how much you learn.
it isnt as much about how long, its how good you are. bcuz, if someone was a fast learner, or a "natural" it would take them less time than a slow learner. get my point? anyways, how advanced you are doesnt matter. if you love what you do and have fun and love your horse, that is all that matters, not so much how good you are. happy riding!
depends on how well u train
Good question. It depends on how dedicated you are, how often you ride, how well you learn and how much you practice. Some people advance faster than others as in anything you learn in life. Main thing is not to worry about that, just enjoy and have fun. Hope this answers your question.
