my average is based on full feed rations, twice a day, 365 days a year. The figure represents the cost of hay, grain, supplements, salt, and mineral. All other horsekeeping costs (which I will outline below) are separate from this figure. My feed cost per head for 2002 was $730.00 per horse.

Food and stuff is included in the stables That you are going to board your horse at....but it is about $1000.00 a month!!

it depends what stables you go to, coz some are rely expensive, sory im not sure bout the price. im not sure the exact upkeep per month, but i'll tell u everything I get mine n the approx. price. You need hay or haylege which is about 拢5 , one bale will last bout a month. You need all the tack, but that wouldn't be every month, and some horses can be bought along with their tack. You need cool mix (or pony nuts) which is bout 拢5-拢10 per bag. Horses also need worming atleast every few months, but I'm not sure how much they cost. This may seem like alot, but beleive me its sooooo worth it! My horses are the best and I couldn't live without them!

Depends on what route you want to take. If you choose full board where everything is provided for your horse, you're looking at around $600-$650 where I'm from. This does NOT include farrier or vet fees but includes feeding, haying, turn out, and stall cleaning. There is always the option of pasture board which runs at about $300 around here, but this usually does not include shelter or consistent feeding.
