I'm talking a straight load.

Generally the weights differ depending on the detail, if they have a saddle box or side boxes, if they have rug rakcs, or if they have a kithcen or if the bays have been enlarged. The trailers don't come in generic sizes based on horses e.g. Pony or TB. They come in single straight (very flimsy), 2 straioght load, (general horse float) 3 horse straight load, then they have 2 horse angle, 3 horse angle and 4 horse angle. The they go to horse trucks.

My horse float was a 3 horse straight, used for a horse transport float during the 2000 olympics at sydney (for the injured horses) fortunately it wasn't used as there were not alot of injured horses. My father who builds and renovates horse floats changed it to a 3 angle load, 4 if we put our ponies in it. It will fit my appy gelding (400kg, my mums appy gelding (500kg), our saddle box(100kg) plus the saddles, and then the material in the float and the bars and rug rack, as well as the feed in teh front.

Teh trailers are suppose to weigh less than the weight recomended, i am not sure of this weight, but i would ask at the Roads and Traffic Authority or your nearest regestration centre. They have the right information and can tell you what they should weight, you can also go to the rego checkers, and inspection centres, who inspect the vehicals before they become registered, they know exactly what the correct weight would be

Theres a wide variety of 2 horse trailers and sizes. Is it enclosed or stock type windows? Is it Thoroughbred size?? The easiest way would be to run it over some scales at your local truck station.

Depends on the trailer. Aluminum trailers weigh less than steel ones. Most 2 horse trailers without tack rooms weigh around 3500 pounds.

my 2 horse strait load iron weighs 7500 pounds but we got a hitch for 10000 pounds!

Well there are two different kinds of material that trailers are made out of. Metal and aluminum. Obviously the aluminum is lighter then the metal. I am not sure what the exact wight is though.

My CM stock combo 2horse is a extra wide and tall and is solid steel so it weighs around 3,000lbs

But a smaller alluminum trailer could weigh only 1500lbs
