I was just curious how much a tail grows in a month;year

I know it sorta depends on the horse; I have a paint gelding that has a very thick tail and its about 2.5 inches from the ground yay

well, i'm not sure if this would work, but it seems logical, measure your horse's tail now, wait a month and measure it again, then find the difference and you know how much your horse's tail has grown, to estimate how much it would grow in a year you could multiply the number by 12 -- just a guess, hope this helps :)

The rule of thumb that we have always used around the barn is that it takes seven years for a hair to go from the tailbone to the back hooves. In other words, protect that tail! It takes years to grow back in if something happens to it.

Yeah it depends on the breed. Freisians and Tenessee Walking Horses have a tendency to have really long mane and tails but usually horses tail stops growing before it hits their hooves.
