How much for riding lessons
I have been asked by several parents if I would give their children basic riding lessons. I gave my first "paid" lesson yesterday, but was not sure how much to ask. So I am charging $15.00 for the initial assessment fee and then will be asking $25.00 hr for the actual lesson. Does this sound like a fair price? I am also considering package deals for multiple lessons.
Also, what kind of insurance should I get for this. I am working with the children/adults on their on property and horses. Thanks.
Answers:$20-25 is about right for someone who is not a "big professional trainer." The big name trainers get as much as $60-100 for a lesson, but the local beginner trainers get $20-30. I'm in Florida, but can claim the same for California and Michigan as I still have horses in both states.
As far as insurance, if they are using their own horses and are not on your property, I'd just settle with having them sign a liability release. You can find one online. Just do a search for equine release of liability. If it is on your property and on your horse, you may want some farm owner liability insurance. Check with your home owners insuranca AND check with an equine insurance agent. Again, do a search online.
Good luck.
that sounds fair to me. my riding lessons cost 拢15 for half an hour and 拢25 for an hour.
As for the insurance im not sure about that
In Texas a private lesson range from $30 - $50 per hour. Group lessons can range from $15 - $25. It all depends where you teach, or if you are teaching at your own place.
