I have a 16.5 inch Rodrigo Pessoa close contact hunt seat saddle. It is in excellent condition, but is slightly older (about 6 years old). It is good quality, medium/light oil, standard tree and has extra long leg flaps. I think I payed around $1400 for it new.
What would be a fair price for this saddle? I want a pretty quick sale on it, but I don't want to give it away. Right now I have it advertised as 'make an offer' but I would really like to know what is a fair price.
Answers:it is still in very nice shape. I'd say $1000 for it, give take.
I'd pay $600- $900, depending on what I saw in the picture.
I have 2 40 year old saddles that i got for $ 80 each now i am starting to think i got gyped but i think its would be worth around 900 - 1100
Gosh, that is a good question. Those things have gotten pretty pricey, and seem to hold there value pretty well. Does it have a plain or padded flap? I would say if it is in like new condition, just broken in, 6 years of use...$800.00 firm? I think that would sell pretty quick and still not be giving it away- well, maybe a little more. I think it depends on where you are selling it, and what kind of English market you have. Do your homework and see what used ones are going for. I would buy it from you, sounds perfect for me (I just broke my tree). I dont care for the light oiled ones though- I like the traditional dark ones (just my preference)
