I raise Arabians and this is what we do for bonding: Spend time with her. Grooming is an excellent bonding tool and good for you, too. And not just a quickie once around style. Groom her from top to bottom, front to back. if she's not used to it, start with the softest brush you can find or a cloth and rub over every square inch of her while you discuss current events, your life story, make one up for her, sing to her... use one hand to groom, the other should stay on her body, not moving, but comforting. If you do this every day, you can move up to firmer brushes. A good grooming starts with stiff brushes, then medium, then soft, then a rubbing cloth. Use only the softest brush on her face. Finger comb her mane and tail as regular brushing can pull out her hair. We braid the manes to help keep them tangle free and they like that. They like quiet movements, soft voices, steady hands. They enjoy rubber dog squeakies in their feed buckets a whole lot, stall toys to play with when you aren't there. Hang out in her stall if you can and read aloud to her. Play nice music for her. Rub her with a cool cloth on hot days, a warm cloth on cold. Bring her special treats when you come out. A big hit is watermelon as are Mrs Goodpasture's Cookies. Enjoy!

Play with her, sit around and "talk" to her in her stall. feed her piece by piece little treats. Take a "hike" or a trail walk with her, not riding, but leading.

something as simple as taking her for a graze can be great, no work, nothing new to accept, and just all pleasure, maybe take a brush to go over her if she likes it.
