It kind of depends on what kind of horse you want. There's a lot of different types. They usually are 1000+ maybe more than that.

If you find the type of horse you would like, search them at a local humane society or something.

You don't tell us how old you are, but generally, the way to make money is to work at a paying job.

Horses are ENORMOUSLY expensive to own and care for, and veterinary bills astronomical. If you are still in school, I doubt that you can realistically hope to earn enough money to pay for a horse and its upkeep.

If you are already taking riding lessons, be grateful that your parents are paying for this and leave it at that. You will have ample opportunities to own horses when you are older, if you choose to do so.

If you aren't riding yet, that should be your first goal: earn enough money to pay for the lessons. Some stables will let you pay for lessons by working for them. Otherwise look for a part-time job after school or on weekends. Please make sure your parents support this. Most youths who work outside of school have difficulty keeping their grades up.

I suppose you realize that it takes a great deal of money to own a horse. When I had my horse I traded labor for stall fee. I cleaned out the stable (mucked) in return. I was also allowed to use one of the owner's horses to ride. I was also asked to exercise other peoples horses and they paid me to do that.
