If u nueter a stallion can they still produce babies2007-11-24 21:17:27

my cuzin doesnt beleive my mom that a stallion that has been fixed can still produce babies if they have even sperm in them. so is my mom rite or my cuzin who is only 11.

Actually, I think "fixing" an animal is just a bit different than with people. I had my male dog neutered and I know he can't produce offspring. He no longer has testicles. With men, the Doctor just cuts the "supply line" and leaves the rest in tact.

I guess the point is, when you neuter an animal they no longer have sperm because they no longer have testicles.so they are both right.

im pretty sure if you have that procedure done it is to prevent that from happening..otherwise the vet did a bad job...and i dont think its like a woman getting her tubes tide and being like "oops one got in". im almost positive there is no way around it

Well, if you neuter anything it can't mate. But I guess you can still retrieve the sperm and artificially fertilize the female, and they can have babies that way.

One of the whole points of getting a stallion neuteured is to improve their personality, the other is so they can't produce any offspring. Therefore, no, a neuteured stallion could NOT produce offspring.

They are neutered for the purpose of preventing babies. They are then called a gelding.
