More than anything don't give up, I've known people who've applied over and over again after school after every year of their uni degrees until they finally got in to veterinary science. Some people do entire degrees before they get in. Just never give up, I didn't, I'm there now.

Some large-animal vets will do these programs where a high school student follows them around for a day/week/month during the summer. I remember I had a vet out once and he brought a student as a tag-a-long. The student was telling a very similar story and this was a good opportunity for her to volunteer her assistance if needed and gain some perspective on whether this is what she really wanted to do.

When you go to college, some offer preferable admission to their veterinary school if you were an undergraduate there, so look into this. Make sure you keep up your grades until you graduate and do well on your SAT's so you can get into a competitive undergraduate program. Vet schools are flooded now. One of my collegiate polo team mates had a tough time as an ivy league graduate with a top GPA just because they do get so many applicants. I don't say this to scare you dear! Just to keep you motivated, you have to really work hard to make sure you have good test scores and good grades, but I'm sure you'll be just fine.
