ok, trust me i know how u feel!! people always tried to keep me from getting a horse but i have one now and i have had her for 5 yrs and will NEVER sell her!! ok here are some basic brushes!!

curry comb ( rubber is better!)

hoof pick ( the ones with brushes on the end work best!)

comb

hard brush (to wipe away mud and dirt)

soft brush for face

sweat scraper

sponges

mane tamer( to get out the icky snarles!)

fly mask/ fly spray/ SWAT( i swear my life on this stuff!! it works great!! it is a little messy though but it makes ur horse fly free!)

horse massager brush ( it relaxes your horse after a long ride and helps you have a fun bonding time!)

Hi! Everyone else has already listed pretty well what you need. All I have to say is listen to your sister for advice. No matter how annoying she is. If she knows anything about horses, she probably knows more than you. The longer you have horses the more you learn, and the more you realize you know so little about them. The only person who thinks she can take it all on by herself is going to do three things: 1. ruin a few horses 2. reinvent the wheel, 3. get injured. If you really don't want help from your sister, get help from someone else.
