Im might enter my first horse show

I might be entering my first stable show. No one there that will compete is at my level, so I'm afraid I'll have to compete against way better kids, or way worse. So, I need some help with some advice on shows because everyone that I most likely will compete with has entered thousands before.

I am an intermediate rider and I'm going to jump, canter, walk, and trot. My horse is calm but on some days can have an additude. He is a white quarter horse. He was a pain today.

I need some help with how to handle the show like a pro and how to get my horse to behave and do what I ask him to do so we score at least decent! We are a great tem together though and we have worked together for around half a year. I need serious help!

First, competition is competition! Never judge what level someone is on, it might come to back to bite you. Second, win or loose, its about having fun and learning every step of the way. If you screw up, thought it might happen, then just say... I knew I had to work on that and smile. You and your horse are a team so, no one is to blame and its a learning experience for both of you.. IF YOU LET IT BE!

If you beat the heck out of someone, keep your inner happiness until you are back to your "space", don't rub it into someone below you or less fortunate that you.. Always be polite and encourage others to "kick" your butt! Be positive, not negative to anyone. Even if someone is WAY below you, you may end up being their "idol" in a sense, so treat everyone as if you are equal and remember, if there was not competition out there, these sports would not keep going. Winning is only the silver lining, and I don't care who you are. A winning streak is that and there is ALWAYS someone better than you out there!
