Im moving to Lansing Michigan HELP ME2007-11-24 21:17:38

I live in Memphis,TN and I'm moving to Lansing,MI this july, and I need to find a barn with a good lesson program and have a working student program that will allow me to work and to pay off lessons. I have recommendations from two of the past barns I have worked in. Anyone know of any good places? Also, I am thinking of buying a horse, and need a cheap boarding place that also has a good lesson program.

Any suggestions are welcome!

You're in luck, Lansing has a LOT of barns in the area. Michigan State University owns a horse breeding/training program, and also has the nicest (in my opinion) horse show facility in the state.

Near by Lansing in Mason there are a lot of nice barns, look into Cathy Wright at Full Moon Arabians. Massman Stables Incorporated is a great farm as well. They specialize in youth, and are located near by Lansing. Look up some barns on yahoo local, and then go try a few and see which you like best. You will have a lot of options in the area. Michigan's 4-H main office is located in East Lansing, you could contact them for recommendations.
