in most horses, a gallop, as a walk is jarring, a trot moreso, but a lope is fluid poetry in motion. The exception being a Tennessee Walker, they have a walk that, if allowed their head, is smooth and comfortable.

I actually liked the Icelandic Horse's T枚lt, its suprisingly smooth and very comfortable.

If you ever threw a leg over a Peruvian Paso and experienced the "sobreando" gate, you'd never ride anything else! It truly is the most comfortable gait. It is so smooth that in Peruvian Paso shows they have the Champagne Class; riders hold a tray with a full champagne glass on it and "sobreando" around the arena without ever spilling a drop!

Gallop I'd say. Depends on the horse, some are smooth in every gait, but I would go for gallop.

I have a Peruvian Paso, which is a gaited breed (in my opinion, the most smoothest horse in the world). Its smoothest gait is a paso llano, as fast as a slow trot, but much smoother.

If you're riding a HORSE probably a lope. However, I prefer Mules and any gate is great!
