Is a pony better than a horse i hate riding tall and big horses but like would a pony be too small

ive like never had a pony but they are really cute, and i like riding on small horses, would a pony be better, or would i squish it? im about 5 ft. 120 lbs. 16 yrs. i like dont want it too fall down when im riding it.

I currently ride only horses, but when my daughters were young I took turns riding one girl's pony while the second girl rode with me, then the next day we'd switch. The ponies were both Welsh crosses, one was 12.2hh and the other 13.2hh. I am a small woman, only 5ft3inchs and 110 lbs. Yes, I looked silly on the 12.2 hh pony, but she never complained and moved totally fine. Of course we weren't riding long distances, maybe a mile or two, and we didn't make any speed records, but we did do lots of trotting and even some cantering. The 13.2 hh pony was actually perfectly sized for me and carried me very easily.

As you can tell, there are good and bad points to ponies. Of course, there are good and bad points to horses, too.

Bad for ponies 1) they can come with alot of attitude. Some of this is genetics, some of this is being handled by kids and beginners so they get away with alot. You can avoid this by picking a well broke pony who has good manners, this includes good ground manners 2) Their resale value is often somewhat lower 3)You will probably outgrow the pony either physically or ability wise after a while 4) A pony tends to be obese and must have it's diet limited, especially to avoid founder.
