Since 1992 eight nations have competed for the annual European Horseball Championship. Horseball is now starting to be played all around the world. It's played with a larger ball with handles, and is a little like football or rugby.

Another ball game played on horseback is Polocrosse. It鈥檚 like playing lacrosse on horses. Or it鈥檚 like playing polo, except with lacrosse sticks. It is a sport that is increasing in popularity worldwide.

These people called the game Pulu- and it was very popular with the soldiers and warriors of that age. This tendency continued on for many centuries, and polo eventually became one of the most popular of all the military style sports. Today, polo exists as a professional sport in many countries, including the US and Great Britain, where it is very popular. Polo is also a recognized NCAA sport at the collegiate level in the US- there are a number of universities and colleges that have nationally ranked teams and clubs.
