Is there REALLY a correct answer
I would like to remind everyone that answers questions, that these are strictly opinions! No matter how much knowledge or experience someone has it is still an opinion, because there are too many ways train, or teach, etc. with horses and still acheive the same outcome. There is no right or wronge answer (unless it is harmful to the horse or rider). Attacking, or argueing, or what ever you want to call these disagreements are seriously pointless. I'm not saying you shouldn't voice that you don't agree with someone elese's answer (I have and do), I just think out of respect for our fellow horse people- it should be toned down a bit. The attidtude truley does come through in the typing. I put the question out there yesterday "who is really out there" and I was so happily amazed at the responces...everyone came together from every aspect of the horse world, as a whole, and shared. That is how it should be.
So I ask everyone, try to be nice when you are trying to be informative.
Answers:Thanks, Raise It, for pointing this out and stating it so well. We all can use a little reminder to stay tactful. I'm not sure why horse knowledge tends to go to a horse lover's head, no matter how much or how little experience we truly have.it's a mystery. But if we remember where we came from, and what patient grandparent or thoughtful instructor passed the horse sense on to us, we might be a little more appreciative of those who are asking our advice. Very good point.
amen -- i totally agree with u
i so totally argree =)
There are right and wrong answers, just not 1 in particular in either case. So, you are right and I agree with you 100%! I have asked retorical questions, I'm not looking for a fight though and typically get told off. When I feel something needs some light shed on it, like my riding lessons/green broke horses question. I'm just thinking hopefully someone's mom/dad will read that and realize that this could potentially be happening where there kid is taking lessons. I'm not trying to make personal attacks on anyone! If anyone has felt that way, my apologies.
You are so right, there are as many right answers as there are individuals.
