Is there a saddle out there that combines the light-weight qualities of an English saddle with the c
in riding of a western saddle?
Answers:Well, I am quite fond of my Plantation saddle. They are made for the gaited horse but I use mine on my half draft (she's got tall withers), very comfortable for me and the horse, and affordable. Here's a link to see some;http://crestridgesaddlery.com/sinclair06...
Also, Tucker makes a plantation/endurance saddle that is very comfortable as well. It's over $1,000, but it's a sweet, good looking saddle! Here's a link;

And of course, there's always the Aussie saddles, sans horn, =-)
Good Luck!

take a look.
A nice little barrel saddle. Not quite as light as an english saddle, but lighter than most western saddles at only 25-30 lbs.
I like the Circle Ys for comfort, or the Double J (JJ)s.
I do NOT like the synthetic saddles as I don't think they fit the horses well nor do the hold up to the test of time.
yea i have heard of some australian saddle that is light and it looks like a western with out the horn. Also i think endurance saddles are light and comfortable
you can get a barrel saddle. they are tiny, light weight, and very comfortable.
