Martingale help
Can you show jump in a leather running Martingale??..is it safe and is it allowed at horse shows?? thank you!..soory, I just started using them on my new horse and dont know too much about them
Answers:first off, why are you using a running martingale? they should only be used by someone with experience imo. if you are having problems with the horse tossing its head or not having proper headset, a martingale is only a temporary fix. try working on collection with your horse and actually teaching him to be on the bit instead of forcing his head into a position via a martingale. yes, you can show in one.
4 years of age is still too young to be jumping. also, any type of martingale wont teach a horse to collect.
Yes cou can show in one. They are safe, just be careful when first introducing it. Your horse will have to learn to give to the pressure from a differnt direction, and that might upset him at first. I see laot of people use them. Good luck!
Yes, you can show "Jumper" in a running martingale. Standing martingale for "Hunter" over fences only. They are safe and give your horse enough freedom needed to jump. If used properly, they can help with collection. If your trainer says to use it, I can only hope she is also teaching you how and why.
Warning you are gona get a lot of flack with this question. There is always major difference of opinions when it comes to gear and training aids.
