i was wondering if it is possible to keep a miniature horse in a suburban backyard. I know it needs council approval but what is the minimum size the yard can be? thanks
Answers:you can, but you would need to walk it like a large dog, I lived in an average street with an average to large yard and a neighbour use to keep one, she was walked daily, rain, hail or shine... t
hi there. i am an aussie and live in caboolture, qld..check with your local council. they should be able to tell you..if it were me, i would let you cause after all they are no bigger then a dog...especially a doberman or a german sheppard etc...
Hell why just stop at one miniture horse? Get 10
hey,
i don't think you will be allowed to, mainly because you may have to have a certain amount of land, and the area has to be semi-rural or rural. But if the council says you have enough room and if the block is semi-rural or rural then that should be okay. Good Luck.
much love

horses need there space what the hell
They are pretty small, but they're still horses. I think they need a good half acre or more at least to run, you couldn't just keep a horse, no matter the size, in a tiny lot. However if you have the room I hope they let you. As long as you have a good ammount of space and the know-how you should be okay. I would worry about "minimum" though, if say 1/6 acre is the minimum, would that really be big enough?
