She is thinking about castrating this stallion!! Her excuse is that she is not getting any offers but maybe she is just not advertising as well as she should... What do you think? Should she castrate him? Would you breed your mare to this stud? Is her asking price reasonable?

Answers:

You sound like you love horses, that's nice, sorry,l don't know much about them- only that they are very beautiful creatures. xx

i suggest u let it run free in the wild. =)
um,, it may be helpfull if you showed us this stallion
This is your decision, not a trainer's..and if you don't agree, get him into the hand's of a new trainer. YOU pay the bills; the trainer should discuss things with you, but YOU are the one who makes the call on everyting.
Instead of breeding and adding to the over-population of horses, take in some OTTB's, train them to be good riding horses, and sell them. (The horse in my user pic was an OTTB; he was an AWESOME horse!)

There are PLENTY of ex-racehorses that just didn't make good racehorses!

Pretty is as pretty does. He's a gorgeous horse, but if no one is breeding him and ESPECIALLY if he's not being actively shown, then he may be better off a gelding. Geldings are much easier to manage and easier to keep in a herd environment, which is better for them anyway.
