Names for a horse
Hello I am getting a horse (most likely a QH, but I am not sure), but I don't know what to name it. Boy and girl names too. I know I should wait, but I am making a list and seeing what name I like best and which one fits my horse best. If you want to include show names and barn names too, that is fine.
Answers:normally when you purchase a horse it will already have a barn name and if registered it should have a show name.
it is considered bad luck to change a horses name I am stuck with two horses with stange names one called flanagan and one called willough as I have never changed one of my horses names.
However if your horse has a name which you do not like you can always abbreviate it.
REMEMBER if you buy an older horse it will know its own name so changing it will confuse the horse and it will most likely ignore you when you call it!!
Call it stop that way you can confuse it every time you take it for a ride.

I don't know his registered name, but my co-worker's horse is called Magic. My sister-in-law's horses are Dan, Lulu, Little Bit, Rose, and Junior.
