So I am at this stable and every year they raise the prices of their barn. Now, it is $40 a lesson and I take 3 a week. I also do horse shows all in the summer (just local though). Sometimes, I feel I dont get what I pay for. One of my instructors isn't very nice or good. She yells at you if you dont get something right the first time. Sorry to use this language but she is a "B**CH". Sorry I had to use it that way! So I am looking for a horse and she says I'll watch as many videos as you want me to. Then my other instructor (same barn and they are mother and daughter) says now we have to charge you for videos. The same price as a private lesson!! That means that if I gave them a video or a couple videos, that was an hour long just for them to watch, I would have to pay them $90. What should I do? leave? Stay?

As far as the trainers charging you for watching a video, absolutely not, that should be a service include in assisting you purchasing a horse. The protocol is that I would watch a video with you and advise on whether or not it is animal I would recommend depending on your skill level and his training. I would then go with you to visit the animal. I may charge you to visit the animal or charge a finders fee, which is generally a percentage of the purchase price of the horse. This way I am not wasting my time or your money. I am not sure I would advise you look for a horse with your present trainer(s).
