USEA membership question
In order to show at a USEA endorsed show, do you also need to be a member of USEF? It always asks on the entry forms for your USEF number, and when I was eventing my last horse I was a member of both organizations, but now that I have a new horse and am going to reapply for USEA membership... do I need to be a member of USEF too?
Answers:Yes you need to have both your USEA card and USEF if you're an amateur rider.
2.4 AMATEUR RIDER (AR) - For the purposes of Eventing an Amateur is a senior rider whose remuneration from the activities listed in GR808 does not exceed $2500 in either the preceding or current calendar year. In order to compete as an amateur a rider must possess either a USEF amateur card or have on file in the USEA office a signed affidavit stating that he/she is in compliance with the above definition. Amateurs in Eventing are subject to the relevant provisions of GR809-GR810.

You need both, it does really sucks!
I think there is a surcharge to show in USEA shows if you're not a member.
If you bought your horse from someone who evented, ask the previous owner if he or she has that horse's USEF number.
You shouldnt have to register in the USEF. But I would just incase.
