WHY WOULD THIS HORSE BE SO CHEAP2007-11-24 21:23:07

Be warned also that they may be a dealer. Always get a vet inspection from a quailfied practitioner. it is expensive, but worth it. He will check out any ligament problems, worms or wieght problems the horse may have.

No offense to the horse community, but there are many shady horse people and never trust a word any of them say, particulary when someone is selling one. Trust me, ive been there and done that!

Another reason is that the horse may have vices as well that may not be present when you look at him. Try and ride him for a couple of weeks on a trail basis, make sure you do all the tack, handling etc and make sure the owner is not aroundto hinder your bonding time. TB's are very sensitive horses and need alot of time to get used to a new owner (i have a 18 year old one name jack and a 9 year named clyde :) espcially if they have been mistreated.

Dont buy him if he has been jumped, because he will develop spurs on his legs (TB's are prone to this)

hope i helped :)

He sounds gorgeous!! Probably cheap because he wont sell!? I would buy him, hmm maybe not if he's that cheap but if the vet says he fine then i'd buy him. good luck.

I didn't have to read the rest of your question to guess the answer. Someone needs to cut back.

It's not as simple as this...but you're going to see a lot of good horses selling cheap this year with hay being high. All of us who p*ss and moan about sloppy breeding practices creating unwanted/low price animals that glut the market and drive it down are just going to have it too easy this fall on our soapboxes, LOL.

Some people are going to be very, very lucky, but it's not the horses or the breeders who either didn't know any better or just didn't give a rat's ***.

Someone told me grey horses are bad luck-never heard that before in my life, but also horses have been cheap because hay has been scarce and expensive. I would also beware as people will sell their worst horses first and tend to hang onto the best ones. BUYER BEWARE!!
