What To Do
okay bare with me I have never ever bordered a horse before and I am a little nervous...my friend michele is moving and right now my husband and I are looking for a house so we have no land where we live to border my sweet Bell. but i have heard so many horrible stories about what bording barns have done. I also dont want another person riding my Bell, i know it sound selfish but she is older and has a nack to unseat others she does not like and also she is under training with me for my degree in horse training and I dont want her to train with no one else but me. because in the end of our class we need to show all we taught the horse to see how we would fair in some places and fail in anothers, so what my question is, is when u boarder does ur horse have to be used as one of there mounts and can you do all the things you want to do with her or is it true that they will take care of her and pretty much u will ride her..?
Answers:You can ride your horse whenever you want. They will take care of your horse when you can't. They do not have to use your horse for anything if you don't want them to. Just request that they don't ride her. I'm sure they will understand.
They way you can tell if it is a good boarding place is to look around the place you will be boarding her at before you board her. Look at the horses they have & if they seem to be happy & healthy then you have nothing to worry about.
Ask them a few questions & they will explain everything to you!
