What are ALL the levels of combined training, progressively
Including ameoba, tadpole, etc. I'm a dressage rider interested in doing some eventing.
Answers:The USEA (United Stated Eventing Association) / USEF (United States Equestrian Federation) recognized divisions of combined training are as follows:
Beginner Novice Level (2'6'')
Novice Level (2'11'')
Training Level (3'3'')
Preliminary (3'7'')
Intermediate (3'9'')
Advanced (3'11'')
There are also CIC levels ranging from one star to four stars. The preliminary level is designed to prepare the horse and rider for the one star events, intermediate to prepare for two stars, and advanced to prepare for the three and four star events.
At some of the local shows, they host levels of eventing that are not USEA/USEF recognized. Some of these include Intro. eventer (2'0'') and Starter eventer (18''). There are levels that are particular to a certain event (like ameoba and tadpole). These are among the other levels that are not recognized.
Novice, Training, Preliminary, Intermediate and Advanced (* to ****)
Most also have Beginner Novice, for very beginners to get their feet wet in the sport. Some shows call those divisions cute names like Amoeba or Tadpole division to show that they are for beginners.
Beginner Novice Horse, Beginner Novice Rider, Training Novice Horse, Training Novice Rider, Novice, Training, Preliminary ( also called Prelim), Intermediate and Advanced. I have never heard of an event where they used these other names you mentioned, but they are cute.
