I used them on my TB when we first got him because he was over reaching with his hind leg, stepping on the heel of his front hoof and ripping his shoe off! They can also cause other damage by over reaching. Best thing to do is correct the problem but bell boots help! Our farrier has now gotten him trimmed back far enough on his hind hooves so he doesn't do it anymore but that is what they are for!
