What courses should I take in HS if I want to be an equine vet
Also, would being at a science and tech HS be good?
Answers:Quite honestly, nothing concerning your future career matters until you get into college. Make sure you get your basic biology and chemistry out of the way (take AP or honors if you are capable). Other than that, wait until you are in college and get into a good vet program (U.C Davis has one of the best).
Colleges, by the way, will not really look at your choice of high school classes and match it up with your choice of major. Just take classes you feel you are strong at, get good grades in them, and then apply to a university that is good with biology or vetirinary medicine.
If you are worried about preparation for your college classes (since you will be a science major), make sure you take: biology, chemistry, calculus, physics, and if its possible environmental science is very helpful to life-science oriented people.
By the way, I would also advise you against taking anatomy and any other prep classes. If you want to get into a decent school, then you need to be taking AP and especially avoid prep science. Classes like geology, anatomy, etc... are known to admissions office as the "lazy classes" that people take it easy in and will hurt you more than help you. Take a few harder (AP/H) science and math classes and avoid prep math and science altogether.
