What is a fair price range for the horse described below
I started riding/jumping lessons over a year ago. I ride a thoroughbred mare, who I believe is 20 years old. The only problem I know of is she suffers from Equine Anhidrosis, which basically means she has trouble sweating. I live in Florida. Here is a very informative site for more information on that condition: http://petcaretips.net/equine_anhidrosis...
She is going to be for sale very soon. What would a fair price range be for her. Again, I have had no problems with her the whole time I have ridden and jumped with her. Thank you for your help.
Answers:When I lived in Florida that was a very common site. I even had a TB off the track that didn't sweat. My sister took him to Michigan= problem solved (that doesn't relate to your question- I know- Just sharing). But horses there go for A LOT more than they do in other parts of the country. I live in Texas now for example and no matter how cool she is no one would pay more than 1500 for her here- tops! In all fairness to you, everyone that is answering is spread out over the world, and can only give you an opinion for their area- which doesn't really help you.
I say she is worth, what you are willing to pay for her. Sounds stupid- but you are the final decision. Sounds like you really like her, and possibly already have your mind set on buying her. If the sweat thing and her age doesn't bother you, than it shouldn't matter what others think, right? I wish you both the best.
$1550 i'd say thats a fair price
Well she is getting old. So people will not be able to ride her for much longer. She has a problem sweating which could make her uncomfortable. I think a good price range would be anywhere from: 6,000 to 12,000. The higher the price if she if friendly and easy to handle.
Well it really all depends on what the horse is able to do and what the horses temperment and skill ability is. With the fact that she has the disorder it will bring the price down. Her age will also bring the price down. As Thoughbreds are popular the price probably wont be up to high. My suggestion would be go to a horse selling site such as
