Most of your answers are almost right - but not quite!

First, Paint is a breed. One third of Paint horses do not have a white spot larger than two inches in size, they are still registered Paint horses even without the extra white but they are considered "Paint Solid Bred" horses. A horse with a two inch spot of white with white pigmented skin under that white (so obviously we are not talking a scar or brand white mark) is given a "regular" registry in the Paint breed. The white spot must be in specific areas, you could go onto the APHA website and see what they mean. A two inch white spot on their fetlock doesn't count, that would simply be an extension of a white sock.

Paint does not have a height limit, so a true Paint can be any size, including pony size, although the majority of Paints are 14.2hh or over.

There is no Paint Pony registry. It would be a slang name for saying a small Paint horse. Since the majority of people do not know the difference between a Paint and a Pinto, they could be refering to a Pinto colored pony, as well. To be a registered Paint a horse must have at least one parent a registered Paint and the other parent can be either a registered Paint, registered Quarter horse or registered Thoroghbred. A Pinto must have at least one parent as a registered horse, it can be an Arab, Paint, Quarter horse, Saddlebred, or other breed, even a registered pony (they do have some restrictions, no Appys or heavy horses). Then there is white qualifications that the horse must have as well to be in the regular Pinto registry. So there are quite a few Paints who are double registered - their owners chose to pay the money to the Pinto association to register their Paint horse as a Pinto as well. This would allow them to show in Pinto classes.
