What is it called
Have you ever heard of in eventing, how there is the long and short format? What are they? What do you do in them? Thanks! Best answer will be chosen!
Answers:The long format basically runs as follows:
Day One: Dressage
Day Two: Steeplechase, road and tracks, and cross country.
Day Three: Stadium jumping.
In the short format, everything is basically the same, minus the steeplechase and road and tracks portions of day two. Day two then officially just has cross country. The short format is becoming increasingly popular at larger, four star events across the world. This has really opened the door for warmblood breeds in eventing. Thoroughbreds used to be the standard, as they had the athleticism and stamina to handle such a rigorous competition. Eliminating a portion of the second phase opens the door to more warmblood and decreases the advantage TBs have.
The long and short format of what? what has this got to do with horses?
horse you ride them
Clothing . . . . What you would wear while in the ring. I don't do dressage.
I believe you're referring to 1-day and 3-day events?
They both consist of the 3 main phases, dressage, show jumping, and cross-country. The main difference between them is obvious, one only goes on for one day with all the events in the same day, and the other spreads the different phases over 3 days.
