What is the average time for a plug race pole bending race2007-11-24 21:19:08

I went to a 4h show and I just wanted to know the average time of a plug race and pole bending race. I ran the plug in 12 seconds and the pole bending in 40 seconds. I rode a jumping horse in it and he did awsome!! Nobody thought he had it in him so Im still proud of him nomader if it is a good score or not. We accuatly placed 1st in both :) Thanks

That's fab that you won your races..I have a question for you... what is a plug race? Never heard of it...I never did 4-H when i was a kid so...

As far as the pole bending time...be proud you did so good personally when you are just starting out.

Pole bending.20-21 seconds are really fast times, and I have seen a 19 or two...but, I haven't done any pole bending for years, just barrels.

Obviously, a proffessional barrel and pole horse is going to run the pattern much faster. It also depends on the length of the course/ size of the ring. if you are beating others, then you're doing well. FYI, I run the pole bending class in 20 seconds.

i ran poles in 29.? i think. i'm a junior. my horse is bad at poles. i can't find my time any where. yeah hate to burst bubble but a 40.? is pretty slow! where i live the average is 21- 25 ish. the record for juniors is 20.963. so yep gaming= as fast as your horse can run. i have no idea what plug race is? you mean polo turn? i did that in 14.891. i know a terrible time for polo. my horse gets it confused with stake even though we turn them different ways. so anyways your jumper is definately not a gamer. seems he should be able to run pretty fast consiering all the guns he has from jumpin. yep. practice on at least loping and slow galloping patterns to get in your horse's mind that fast is good. you placed first in both?!?!?!? wow. where i live, practically everyone who has a horse games, so every gamer is good and i mean good, except for my mom. i only know of 3 people who doesn't. everyone else games. where you live, there is NO competition. unless your patterns are set 2 as large as normal. i hope you become faster!
