Horses com in a wide variety of size and weight. For size they go from the smallest horse at 17 inches to the biggest horse at 22.1 hands. Horses are measured in hands at the withers. Each hand is 4 inches. So my horse is 15.1 hh. For weight. There is such a range in weight. Because horses are so different in breed, some weigh less and some weigh more. I know of a horse that is 16.1 h (pretty big) and it only weighs 1,000 lbs. Some ponies can weigh anywhere from 300- 800 lbs. Some horses can weigh anything from 900 lbs, - 2, 500 lbs.
