What needs to go in my tack trunk2007-11-24 21:22:29

I got a new horse and a tack trunk for myself. I know that i need a bridle and saddle for my horse but besides that what are some other things that i need for my horse or that i should keep in my tack trunk?

anything you think you'll ever need for your horse should go in your trunk... including but not limited to

brushes

wraps/boots/polo/bell boots

first aid kits (horse and human)

towels

sponges

rubber gloves

shampoo

bucket

rubbing alcohol or litament

fly sprays

wound dressings

paper/pen (to leave notes for trainer/ barn crew)

perment marker (to write your name on stuff)

*duct tape (many uses highly reccomended)

hammer (to crush pills and hammer in nails in stalls)

treats

plastic bags

dish soap (for hands and buckets)

bleach (to clean buckets)

toilet brush (to scrub busckets)

pony tail holders (if you use them i always break them)

poltice (and paper bags)

leg quilts and standing bandages

bute

old riding boots incase mine get soaked and socks

spare halter and lead

vet and farrier's phone numbers

chaps

helmet

crop

that's pretty much everything in my trunk that i can think of good luck with your new horse!
