What quarter marks do i need on my horse when entering a hunter class
He's quarters are weak so need to enhance them. Entering in in-hand showing in the UK

You can use a nit comb or water brush to make them. Use hair gel or spray to keep them in. Practice first and try different looks to see what suits your horse. I think chunky marks look better on hunters, chequers are more suited to Riding horse classes.
I don't think I really understand what you're asking - but if you're trying to find a way to build up your horse's hindquarters I would suggest a lot of trot work - specifically uphill if possible.

You do not need any at all. It's your choice. I would say just the traditional quarter marks. The zig-zag pattern might be okay too..although that is more used in dressage. You decide but remember to look casual nothing too tacky like glitter!
Checkerboard pattern might enhance the hindquarters better than a zig zag pattern
Normally when entering a hunter class, no quarter marks are put on the horse. (Depends on whether the judge is traditional or not)
However if your horse has a very shiny coat, then they can be used to accentuate this. If you are very clever with the marks, you can use it to make the quarters look better etc - like wearing stripes on a human.
There are patches that you can place on to groom with and get different shapes, the traditional way is to use your brush and get sweeping zig zag shapes - takes lots of practice and can be really smart!!
Its basically up to you, but don't overdo it.
i don't think they have to be a certain type of quater markings but I know a lot of people go for the 'chess board look' - it is apparantly the easiest to do but I am not sure.
If your horses quaters are weak you do not want to draw attention to them by adding quater markings in my opinion but you are right it will make him look better
