What to wear horseback riding
This is my first time horseback riding. I am only going for a birthday party but we are going on a five mile trail ride. I have no idea what to wear. Any ideas? Shirt? Shoes? Pants? I don't want to go buy something, so no riding boots or anything. Thanks!
Answers:You will want to wear jeans, or you'll end up with a bad case of saddle burn. (Worse than any carpet or mat burn you've ever had I promise) I understand that you don't want to go out and buy anything just for a one time deal, but if you can borrow boots from someone then that would be great! I would strongly suggest not wearing tennisshoes or flip-flops because they can get hung up in the sturrups easily. As for shirts, any t-shirt or shirt that covers you well will work just fine. wear jeans, shirt don't really matter
Just make sure it is comfortable. You can wear sneakers. Shorts are a bad idea if you go riding! My friend did that once, and rubbed the inside of her calves raw from them being in contact with the straps holding the stirrups (which are what you put your feet in).
you have to waer rding pants or just some whet pants and i shirt it would be so much better if the shrit had a horse on it
and for shoes if you have any shoes with a bit of a heal on them that is what you need for riding

Wear jeans and a comfortable t-shirt, clothes you don't have to fuss with. Jeans are heavier weight cloth that will give you a bit more protection against chafing than something like a light cotton pair of slacks. If you have a durable pair of leather walking shoes with a flat heel, wear those, otherwise wear sneakers.If it's going to be cooler, take a sweater.
Wear long pants, and if you have them, tight long pants. Sometimes the fabrice twists into wear the stirrups meet the saddle. Hopefully they're kinda thick too. ( Skinny jeanns? ). Be sure you wear a shirt you don't really care about, if it an affectionite horse it may try to nuzzle you. A sweet gesture but those horsies a slobbery little guys. As for shoes just wear sneakers. Happy riding! PS- wear your hair in a low pony so its out of your way but you can still wear a helmet. Drink lots of water!
As well as jeans and t-shirt I'd suggest you wear big comfy underwear, I find the more padding the better!
