What would be a good breed of horse2007-11-24 21:22:07

Maybe not soon, but i'll get a horse. i'm really looking for a gentle, pretty breed that is fast and strong. (light horses, not clydesdales or shetlands)

It all depends on what you want to do with the horse, how much riding experience you have, your height, weight, and age and what discipline of riding you desire to do. If you write a question with all of that answered, I dont mind answering it for you.

Im partial to a nice mannered quarterhorse. They are not too big they are quick pretty and smart.
I dont know much about horses but I like the rocky mountain horse...very pretty.
I love quarter horses... they typically aren't tall, but they are very graceful, and beautifully built!
My favorite is the Tennessee Walker. They are good horses. And they are gorgeous. And you will have a good ride..English or western saddle...
I think that a Paint would be good for you, it has the majority of the things you want. hope this helps :)
depending on experience a Tennessee walker is a really good breed.
As with most animals, breed does not determine temperament as much as upbringing, training and individual personality do. Before buying a horse, I would suggest that you take some lessons and try out different horses, decide what general characteristics you like, and then start looking for an individual horse that meets your requirements.
