Whats the best thing to feed my 7 month old quarter horse x arab so that he will grow to a his maximum height + weight

I used Omelene 300. It is specifically designed for growing colts and broodmares. I also used Grow Colt feed supplement. They both worked really well on my colt. They help them grow and give them all the vitamins and minerals that they need for growing bones and helped him maintain good weight after weaning too. It was also easy for him to digest and didn't leave him all hyped up. It is about 16% protein which is what they need till about a year, then you can lower it to 14%. Make sure you read the back. It will tell you how many pounds to feed for how much weight your colt is. Usually about 1% of their body weight. And make sure he has plenty of good hay.

Strategy is really good feed. I think it's made by Purina. We used it on a couple of colts and they grew up pretty nice.

any specifically designed pre-mix feed for youngstock will be good. We always use mitavite breeda, and add copra and sunflower seeds for good, healthy baby.

IMO, the best feed to maximize height, weight, growth in a colt is Equine JR by Purina. Every baby I have raised on this feed is hands down superior in muscle development, height and weight. I wouldn't use anything else. I start @ weaning time and feed until they are 2.

Equine JR, and Mare and Foal by John Lyon too. I fed my almost 7 year old these and still do. He is extremely healthy, to his max height and wonderful weight.

It is all about balance, nutrition, exercises and DNA/Gens.

the main thing is to find something with alot of protein and fat in it... we have always fed sweet feed(bout six pounds a day) and we usually have the biggest colts around. being young, its good to pump the feed to em'.!
