Whats the best way to get rid of ragwort I,ve been pulling it out but it comes back twice as bad the2007-11-24 21:22:39Answers:

Ragwort is spread by its seeds flying in the wind so if, like me, you live in an area where there are large areas of unused land covered in ragwort, you're fighting a losing battle & just have to keep pulling it up before it goes to seed every year.

get sum of that stuff that freezes them off and it shouldn't come back it will kill it down to the root go to your local drug store

Be sure to get rid of all the roots and runners, even the smallest bit will encourage regrowth. Try to dig a little ways around the root to ensure you got everything. Be careful with things like Roundup if there are other plants nearby.

dig and burn evry last bit. you have to get all the plants including ALL of the root. its horrid stuff!!

make sure you wear gloves when pulling it as well as it does rip your hands. (ive still got scars from 6yrs ago!!)

Dig it out, roots and all... Not much else you can do. If the field (or paddock) is to be left to recover for a few months, use some strong herbicide too, but make SURE first.

Remember to take some mud in with you in a barrow to fill in the holes where you dig the wort out. Hard work, but hey. thats horses !

pull it out, roots and everything, even the ones with no flowers. put some salt were the roots were, and put abit of mud over it.

hi have you heard of barrier H. its great stuff spray on rosetts and there shrivled up within an hour or so, or what about a ragfork for digging it out, helps good root come out. remember your gloves! good luck i have same proble and field spraying is so expensive!

Pull it up BEFORE it flowers..and burn it or take it away
