Whats the difference
A mule is a cross between a horse or pony and a donkey. Mules are infertile and cannot reproduce, so you must use the horse or pony X with the donkey to get one. Mules are mostly characterised by their long ears, and their manes are usually roached (shaved off) they also have very small hooves. Their hooves are much smaller than a horses, more like that of a pony's. Mules can perform in any event or discaplin, from dressage to show jumping, but they excell better under harness and as pack animals or trail mounts. But they do have mule and donkey shows that include each event and class. A mule is a breed of horse, while horse and pony just classifies which ever one is. Mules are actually said to be smarter than horses, and I find this true as well. And I must include...Mules are often biased as being stuborn and hard headed. This is not true, it is a mere stereo type. Any equine can become stouborn at any time, not mules in particular.
I hope I was of some help to you!
A horse measures over 14.2 hands high. A pony is 14.2 hands high and under. Horses and ponies are both equus caballus (genus and species). Mules are a cross between a donkey (equus asinus) and a horse. Mules cannot reproduce. Hope this helps!
a horse that is 14.2 hand s or under is a pony, 14.3 hands or over is a horse. A pony is NOT a baby horse. A baby horse is a foal. A mule is a cross between a donkey and a horse.
