Where can you go to get info on western riding
My daughter lives in Arkansas and does it and barrel racing and i'm trying to strengthen our bond by getting some knowledge because it is her passion and I know nothing about it
Answers:First off, you rock. That's the coolest thing I've heard all week. I wish my daughter's dad had taken that kind of interest in her when she was younger!!
I recommend checking out a few local barns and taking a few lessons! Find a good trainer, tell them what your goal is, and even if you aren't interested in horses, take two or three lessons. Not only will you get knowledge, but you'll gain experiences to share with her. And should y'all go riding together, you'll feel more comfortable, and can concintrate on bonding, instead of staying on, LOL!
Good Luck, and Best question Evah!

Did you know that barrel racing is really hard on horses and they should always wear protective boots while doing it? Just search the web.
You can go to the library and get some info on it. In fact, there are several good book sout there that describe Western riding in a great way. I know a few people who wanted to learn more about it and are now very up-to-term with horse lingo and such. But, over all, I think the best way to learn about Western riding would be to actually experience it for yourself. You can read about it, but you should eventually get out in the saddle. Go for a trail ride with your daughter. She would probably be ecstatic about that.
The AQHA is a good place to start and so is the AQHA Journal. As she is into barrels, also try the NBHA.
