Which Pair
We're looking into geting a farm, and when we first get it, we're only going to get one horse. I heard that horses can get lonley by themselfs, and so I was thinking about adopting a Shetland Pony to keep it company. But when I talked to my mom, she said that the dog could keep it company. Which pair would be better?
Answers:They do get lonely by themselves, but make sure the new pal is not going to be more of a pest than a pal. The dog may not care a fig about the horse, none of mine have. The horse may be afraid of/hate ponies. I have seen this one way too many times. Two geldings of similar size and temperament can be the nicest arrangement. Mares can be rude and bossy on the best day and witchy on the worst. That's "can", some mares are very mellow, some geldings are total crabs and hate everybody Sometimes you can find two horses for sale at the same time who already get along. Burros might be an option for your companion animal and also goats. We've used goats quite a bit and they can stay in the stall with the horse. There's pygmy and dwarf varieties that are very nice and reasonable to care for.
shetland pony, cute and you can show it if it's registered
get another horse just like the one u r originally getting maybe get a male and a femal and u can have a horse baby!
2 horses
Shetland pony is a much better companion for a horse than a dog! The people across the street have two retired horses in the field and they have two dogs. When the dogs are outside, they bug the horses more than anything!
