Which breed would be best to breed with a thoroughbred?? maybe an arab!
Answers:I would never breed an arab with a tb. I would breed it with either a quarter horse, a paint or a warmblood such as a hanoverian.

Thoroughbreds cross nicely with many breeds, Arabians and Quarter horse especially. Many people cross them with draft horses as well. I've known some great Welsh Pony/Thoroughbred crosses too.
Depends what you want to do with it. TB's are a breed that can fairly easily be crossed with other breeds to produce nice horses. You should always breed to something that has similiar conformation. Quarter horses when crossed with TB's can be great hunt seat/jumping horses, you can add leg, some refinement and height to the quarter horse. Plus usually TB x quarter horses can be registered as appendix quarter horses with the AQHA.
Arab TB crosses can come out really nicely, can be great dressage mounts. These crosses can be registered with the arab horse registry.
Avoid breeding a cross that is obscure, and unregistrable. Like a TB x tennessee walking horse, or TB x POA. These combonations are unable to be registered through any legitimate registry, and do not compliment each others conformation and movement. Ingenral it is not a good idea to cross a gaited horse with a non gaited horse (of course thier are exceptions), or 2 horses with completly different body types.
Arab. i have 2 Thoroughbred/Arabians. it is a great cross breed. tall like a TB, beautiful Arabian face, Arabian arched neck, smart like an Arabian. they have it all speed,beauty,smarts,and height.

Anglo Arab's are very nice (Arab X TB) and so are Appendix QH's. They also have registries for them which is good if you want to show. Hanoverian's crossed with TB's can also make very nice event/dressage horses. I'd prefer the Anglo Arb myself.
Arab would be good choice being both are hot blooded.
