Who do you think is smarter Mare, Stallion or Gelding2007-11-24 21:22:56

It depends on the HORSE. I know a few stallions that you would swear are geldings until you look underneath, an, sure enough, they are still there.

I know some mares and geldings too that act like studs - fiesty, loud, aggressive, and out of control.

Don't listen to all the hype,and if someone starts screaming their opinionabout this into you, just nod your head, say "Yeah!", and walk away, and go about your business and get the GOOD horses based on conformation, disposition, talent, and history... not sex or looks.

I would agree 100 percent!!! Mares are the ones who establish the pecking order, the phrase "Boss Mare" exists for a reason! They are used to running things, and telling the boys what to do! Of course, geldings make the best babysitters, and stallions can be very clever, but I prefer mares every time!!!

I would have to go with Mare.The mare is more calm and yes I think it is easiest to train.But Stallions are the fastest.If you wanted me to put it that way.Most racehorses are boys.

I think stallions are the smartest but also the most stubborn. But it really varies from horse to horse.

i'd say from personal experience that it depends on the horse. but most of the time mares are easiest to train.

In my experiences, I have found mares to be the smartest gender, the most capable, and the most trying to please. They also tend to be the most willing to let you know when you've done wrong - and can be the most vindictive horses :)
